I don't understand why Americans are not saluting the flag during the National Anthem. What statement are they making? Someone please help me understand … I always thought it was a sign of respect for our country and and sign that we appreciate all the freedoms we enjoy.

I was at that game. I am in the military and even we do not salute flags when we are indoors. At this game I simply placed my hand over my heart and stood at the position of attention. Which is what we are suppose to do when indoors.
